What started as a practical solution became one of our favorite spaces in the greenhouse.

As spring sunlight grew stronger, wet needed a way to protect our plants from too much sun, so we reimagined the space entirely. With study share, hanging wisteria, a peaceful seating area, and the gentle sound of a fountain, function turned into something beautifully immersive.

A reminder that's good garden design isn't just about a space looks- it's about how it feels.

The re-imagining of our front entrance to accommodate the strengthening spring sun is still a work in progress, but with the arrival of these gorgeous hellebores we thought it was the perfect time to share a sneak peak!

After sharing how we needed a solution to the increasing sun strength in our greenhouse, we wanted to share some of our inspiration behind how we redesigned the space.

What started as a practical fix became an opportunity to reimagine the space- with inspiration from wedding trends (hello hanging wisteria!), the cozy winter seating our customers loved, and the beautiful little vignettes we admire at other small businesses.

It's not a photo booth. It's not a display.
It's just a thoughtfully designed corner meant to feel welcoming- whether you're taking a break from plant shopping, waiting for a friend, or snapping a quick selfie.

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the grounds, Colonial Gardens lay still and profound. The benches were bare, tools cleaned with great care, For winter’s quiet rest was finally there.
The wreaths had been sold, the last tree had gone, The greenhouses rested till winter was done. The poinsettias waved a soft holiday red, Then settled in gently for long winter’s bed.
